PRC Advisory : Validity of the Professional Identification Card (PICs) of all professionals expiring during the period of community quarantine

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 922 dated 8 March 2020 declaring a State of Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippines, the Enhanced Community Quarantine imposed over the entire Luzon, and the declared Local Community Quarantine by some of the Local Government Units in the Visayas and Mindanao regions,the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) informs the  public that,the validity of the Professional Identification Card (PICs) of all professionals expiring during the period of community quarantine is extended until the lifting of the community quarantine period.
Further, please be advised that after the lapse of the extension period, all concerned professionals shall file their applications online for PIC renewal within thirty (30) days there from without accruing any surcharges/penalties.
Meanwhile, all professionals with confirmed renewal appointments within the Enhanced Community Quarantine period will be accommodated upon resumption of operations or upon the lifting of the quarantine period.

With the recent Presidential declaration of Luzon-wide "Enhanced Community Quarantine",  services in all PRC offices within Luzon is suspended beginning March 17 until April 12.
Appointments set from March 17 to April 12 shall be accommodated upon resumption of operation on 13 April.

PRC Operates Under Skeletal Workforce as Gov’t Imposes Community Quarantine in Metro Manila

As President Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced on Thursday, March 12, 2020, the imposition of Community Quarantine in Metro Manila, calling for the creation of skeletal workforces for offices under the executive branch, the offices of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) within the Natonal Capital Region (NCR), will be temporarily operating with a skeletal workforce from March 16 until April 14, 2020.
Further, in compliance with the Department of Labor and Employment Administrative Order No. 99 (s.2020) and Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No. 7 (s.2020) PRC will also be implementing a Four-Day Workweek with the following operation schedule:
  • PRC Central and all Offices in NCR - Mondays to Fridays, 7:00AM to 7:00PM
  • PRC Regional Offices including Service Centers– Mondays to Thursdays only, 7:00AM to 7:00PM
Operations of the PRC Service Centers located at various Malls within and outside the NCR will depend upon the imposed Mall hours or announcement of temporary closures, by the concerned Local Government Units or by the Mall Administrators.
This is in support of the government’s stringent measures to combat the spread and threat of the Coronavirus.

In view of the 12 March 2020 Presidential declaration on the prohibition of mass gatherings upon the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF), and to further ensure the safety of the inductees, guests, and personnel and officials of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and prevent the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), please be advised that the following scheduled Mass Oathtakings are postponed until further notice:
  • Oathtaking of new Master Plumbers (March 14, 2020)
  • Oathtaking of new Architects (March 28, 2020)
  • Oathtaking of new Physical and Occupational Therapists (March 29, 2020)
  • Oathtaking of new Real Estate Salespersons (April 2, 2020)
  • Oathtaking of new Real Estate Consultants (April 3, 2020)
  • Oathtaking of new Mechanical Engineers and Certified Plant Mechanics (April 18, 2020)
